Isn’t it a little weird that I probably wouldn’t have been as big of a Shane Gillis fan if he got SNL? I probably wouldn’t have really even known who he was because I barely pay attention to SNL. …

Donnell Rawlings Gets Roasted on the Kill Tony Podcast

The newsletter this week is going to be slightly different than the last few. I have put together a few different funny moments from podcasts that I listened to this week. Think of it as a comedy curation. This newsletter has now officially been turned into a comedy art gallery. Do you think I could sell it as an NFT?

Anywaaaay, hopefully you get just as much enjoyment from these as I did!

Netflix Special — Greatest Average American Streaming Now!

I believe my first introduction to Nate Bargatze was his 30 minute special on Netflix’s The Standups, which had a line up of incredible comics. Nate was the first episode in the series and I immediately enjoyed his sense of humor and style of comedy. I even saw him when he performed at Hilarities in Cleveland a few years ago.

After I saw him on Netflix, I noticed that he started to make more appearances on podcasts that I listened to and became a fan. Then, he released a hour-long special on Netflix called Tennessee Kid.

The comedy podcast you need to start listening to.

Here’s a relatively new podcast that has blown up recently and I love it. The Are You Garbage? podcast is hosted by comedians Kevin Ryan and H. Foley. It’s all about finding out if their guest, usually another comedian, is classy or pure garbage by asking a series of questions. These guys are hilarious together. They have a great chemistry and seamlessly feed off of each other’s jokes. In fact, Bobby Kelly was a guest on the show and spent the first few minutes trashing them about how great their intro was.

5 Irish comics to watch this week!

Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan

St. Patrick’s Day was this week, which had me wondering if I knew of any Irish comedians. I’m not talking about comics that come from Irish descent like Colin Quinn. I’m talking about comedians that were born in Ireland. There were two that came to mind immediately, Colum Tyrrell and Aisling Bea. These comedians couldn’t be more different, but I find both funny!

My next thought was that there has to me more Irish comics I should know about. This led me to Google and down a multi-hour Irish comedy wormhole. …

Patrice O’Neal documentary, funny Patrice clips, and his friends share stories about a great comedian

Comedy Central premiered a documentary about Patrice O’Neal a few weeks ago and it’s definitely something every comedy fan should watch. I’ve heard so many stories about Patrice on podcasts from his comedian friends over the years and I was very excited when they announced that this documentary was being made.

If you haven’t heard of Patrice O’Neal, he is considered one of the best comedians that has ever lived. Patrice started comedy in Boston, his home town, and eventually moved down to New York City as he developed as a comic. Every comic that was around the New York…
